As I've begun to meet new people, I've also discovered the different ways of life as well as different struggles that everyday people have, trying to discover their own identity.
When I was younger, I had no idea that people could be misgendered or decide their own for themselves as well as there being so many different combinations of love. Therefore, I wanted to dedicate a small section of my work to the people that do have to fight for their identity and who they love and for them to be accepted by society.
This is a form of freedom that is crucial to large communities of people (LGBTQ), and is an ongoing fight in many countries/ states around the world. I find this important because to me, the rights that they are fighting for are basic human rights and should not be something that others are able to judge as acceptable or not, who they are and who they love has nothing to do with anyone but themselves and is a freedom that they need to live their lives.
I also created the genderqueer, pansexual, intersexual, asexual, transgender, bisexual and gay pride flags to visually represent the people within these communities that have the everyday struggle to be free to be who they are.
